This movie was entirely envisioned, written, acted, directed, filmed, and edited by 1st through 8th graders using green screen technology at the Digistars studio in central Denver.

Check out this masterpiece the campers made during our very first green screen technology live action filmmaking summer camp at the Digistars studio in central Denver!
The kids caught on quickly to how green screen (composite layering) technology works in filmmaking, and then put their knowledge to immediate use. The entire production was hands-on and kid-driven from storyboarding to scriptwriting, lighting to set designing, filming, acting, and editing.
FYI, the grade levels of the actors/writers/directors/filmmakers range from third through sixth!

Registration is open for Monday, January 18, and for all the rest of the DPS no-school days for the rest of the year – including during spring break – for our Claymation TM Vacation Day camps. These single-day camps are a great way to channel your child’s creative energy into a fun and exciting day with friends making a movie.
In a Vacation Day camp, students make an entire movie between 9 am and 5 pm, and parents are invited to a showing at the end of the day. Starting and finishing a movie in a single day provides a great sense of accomplishment for kids in grades 1-8, and many of our campers come to the program again and again.

After the huge success of our weeklong camps last summer, we are expanding our offerings for this summer. Not only will we be hosting our popular weeklong stop motion animation (Claymation TM) camps, but our live action camps will now include green screen technology that will allow us to set the action anywhere in the galaxy. Camps will run June 6 through August 26th.
Summer camp information and registration will be posted soon and will be announced through this newsletter. Be sure to register early because space is limited and the best prices will be reserved for early birds.

Make a Special Memory over Winter Break!
Now that the presents are all unwrapped and the excitement of Christmas is over, there’s still a week or so of winter break ahead for fun and memories. Vacation day camps at our studio near City Park are the perfect solution for antsy kids to have a magical day making movies!
In our most popular programs, campers build sets and use clay to create a stop motion animated story. Camps are running Monday and Tuesday, December 28th and 29th, and January 5th and 5th.
Want to do more acting on-camera? On December 30th we are offering a special one-day Live Action camp where we will be using the giant “green screen” and our stocked costume trunk to place your stories anywhere!
